ADULT AND SENIOR CARE SERVICES
Our newest program at LAP Respite Center is the Adult and Senior Care Department. With the addition of this department, LAP now provides Life-Span Respite to the Greater Lansing Area.
Currently, we offer In-Home care services for families who live in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties, who care for an adult person with disabilities or age related conditions. Saundra Fitzpatrick-Fryer, the LAP Adult Program Manager works with each family to develop an individualized care plan for this person. This unique plan is used to utilize a variety of creative methods to encourage, stimulate, and focus on the challenges facing each family household.
LAP realizes that as people age they may have the need for extra help, yet it may also be very important to them to stay in their own home. At times this daily care requirement may be difficult for family members to handle when they must go to work every day, frequently travel, or if they live out of town. LAP Respite Center offers a service that can provide the needed daily care for the adult person by trained Care Providers in your own home. With the flexibility of our programs LAP staff can work with family members to develop a plan that fits your family.
All the LAP Respite Care Providers have successfully completed a 32 hour training program which has been developed to address issues of disabilities, chronic illness, and aging concerns. The Care Providers come into your home with a professional maturity and work ethic. LAP sets high expectations of our Care Providers to deliver quality care and to offer the needed support of daily living to your family member with respect and dignity.
LAP Respite Center wants to be assured that all Respite Care Providers are safe and healthy. Before Respite Care Providers are hired, LAP runs several checks that include a background check, police check, driving check, TB test, and health check. All Care Providers have also passed CPR and First Aide.
